The bill (Reg. No. 7451) improves the procedure of appointing the judges
to the office of a judge for the first time; regulates the issues on the
training of the candidates for the office of a judge; and supports effective
work of the bodies in charge of selecting the judges.
To specify the date of enactment of the Law "On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges" (re Special Training of a Candidate to be appointed as a Judge for the First Time), the Committee members recommend that it should come into force "since the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine announces the first selection of candidates for the special training before entering the office of a judge."
The Committee members believe that these amendments will improve selection of the candidates, and help to form a competent judicial corps.
